Big Deal:

A few months ago I wrote about the Nintendo DSi XL being released in Japan. Since then I waited with a lot of anticipation for its release in the US. At first I had no idea why Nintendo decided to release it only in Japan, but I realize now that they wanted to see how the gamers market will adapt to it, and there is no better gamers market then in Japan (They are simply crazy about games there).

So finally after a few months of anticipation I had the chance to check it out by myself. At first glance the shape and design of the Nintendo DSi XL looks just like the regular Nintendo DS's. But when I opened it the two big screen that poped out simply amazed me, I mean wow the screens are HUGE.

When I played a game on it, the graphics looked really really solid and clear, suddenly I could see a lot of details I had no chance of seeing on the smaller screen. The good thing is that although it has bigger screens now the battry life stays the same.

Although I love the new twin super size screens I kinda had it a little difficult with the overall size of the Nintendo DSi XL which is a lot more bulky the the regular Nintendo DSi. This bulky size just doesn't cut it as a pocket game, the Nintendo DSi XL is simply not something you can go everywhere with, you have to have a small bag or super size pockets!

In conclusion the Nintendo DSi XL is very cool with its twin large screens but the price you have to pay for it reduces its mobility factor. The price tag on the Nintendo DSi XL is 189.99$ which make it a little expensive. In my opinion if you don’t have a hand held game platform it's worth buying, but if you already have one don’t bother!

Check it out for yourself:

So.. will you be enlarging your pockets to carry this around?
