Kim is here to offer advice about problems and issues you may have.

Dear Kim,

My babysitter is Sarah, and lately I think I've developed a crush on her.  She's around a lot, is very pretty and I like talking to her.  She is 10 years older than me, but I can't help it.  I can't talk around her, I blush when she hugs me.  Am I weird?

Hey Dan,
Its perfectly normal to develop crushes on your babysitter or sometimes your teachers, it happens.  The important thing to remember is that you can't expect anything from it, its just a crush and it will pass.  The age difference and the fact that she is an authority figure, someone meant to take care of you, are reason why it won't work.  But I wouldn't worry about it too much, maybe tomorrow you'll wake up and have a crush on someone in your class.  Try to act normal and remember that she's just a girl.

Kim Glam,
I just got glasses and I'm afraid that when I go back to school in the fall that people will laugh at me, call me a dork.

Katie

Dear Katie,
Having glasses does not make you a dork, far from it!  You should never be afraid of being labeled something, you are who you are.  Glasses are great! So many different styles and colors, they are neat!  And the best part is you'll be able to see!  If someone does happen to call you a "dork" or a "nerd", just shrug it off. Be the bigger person and love who you are and you're new glasses!
