Are you the new one in school? Do you have the feeling that when you are walking down the hall at school, everyone at their lockers can’t help but stare your way? Like in a slow-motion kind of way?

I remember what it was like, starting a new school, it was like people came over to ask you all sorts of personal questions, but that was it. How do you go from question answering to full on friend? Well... the older we get the harder it is, if you switched schools because you moved, chances are you will have a harder time because you are new to the area also.

Everyone has their life-long friends, or even “best friends”, and you just feel like there is no room for the newcomer don’t you? Sometimes that may be true, but it really depends on how you look at it.

Think about it this way, this group of friends has known each other for so long that not too much changes, maybe a little drama here and there, but that’s it. Consider yourself new and exciting; and by entering the “existing” group you’re giving them something new!

Whatever you do don’t try to be more like them to fit in! Be yourself, chances are that’s more interesting for them anyway, and it’s more natural and true to yourself anyway.

Everything happens in due time, dont push too hard. The harder you try the less they will be likely to let you in, so throw them a personal story here and there, and share your snack and you’ll see that everything will work out!
