Jeremy Lusk, a Freestyle motocross star died Tuesday from head injuries he received during a riding event.

Lusk was only 24 years old and a 2008 X Games gold medalist. He was injured Saturday when he failed a Heart Attack backflip on his bike and slammed head-first into the dirt. After the injury he had surgery but unfortunately his condition worsened.

Strangely enough, Lusk crashed in an almost identical way in the 2007 X Games but walked away unhurt. Lusk said he wouldn't attempt that flip for months after his first crash. Motocross is a very, very dangerous sport!

A successful sports man and a young life cut short by a tradgic accident, he is survived by his wife, Lauren.
