This week, March 2-6th is National Recess Week sponsored by the Cartoon Network.
This celebration promotes health and fitness, getting kids up and active. Featured sports celebrities get involved too, this year NBA superstar Dwyane Wade will be the national spokesperson. Nearly 7,000 public and private elementary schools will participate, and $100,000 dollars in school health and wellness grants will be given, as well as more than 100,000 red rubber balls given to schools around the country.
Those iconic rubber balls will be used to break a record. This year efforts to break the Guinness World Record of largest simultaneous game of Four-Square. This event will take place at noon on Tuesday, March 3rd. Over 120 schools across America registered to take part in it.
