Can you tell if a person’s smile is real or not?!
That’s the question that a new psychology test by Proffessor Ekman from University of California is asking… The test is online now, and it’s a lot trickier than you think!

We’re all used to seeing fake smiles on television, commercials, advertisements, and beauty pageants! Not to mention the people around us – we don’t always smile for real, do we?!
While you would think it would be easy to tell the difference between a real smile and a fake one, it turns out it’s really hard! We really don’t know how other people are feeling a lot of the time…

What’s interesting is that a fake smile is different from a genuine smile, because it actually uses different face muscles which are controlled by different parts of the brain!
Still, our eyes can’t always detect the difference.
